    Frequently Asked Questions

How can you tell if a real estate sponsor is misrepresenting their track record?
Aleksey's simplest check is verifying claimed ownership against third-party data such as CoStar. He regularly finds sponsors claiming to own a portfolio that actually belongs to a different firm, where they were only an LP. His analogy: it's like saying "I own Tesla" because you hold one share.
What happens on GP LP Match when a sponsor looks like they're overstating things?
Anything even remotely close to misrepresentation is not sent out at all. He says it happens far more often than people would expect, and sending an embarrassing or borderline deal to the platform's institutional LPs would damage the brand.
